Annual giving is the lifeblood that provides essential unrestricted support to advance our educational outreach and programs. To contribute to the Society of the Cincinnati’s Annual Giving Campaign, which ends on June 30, click here.

As George Washington understood, not everyone’s purse is of equal size. But support at every level is essential. Since May of 1783, the Society has existed to perpetuate the timeless ideals for which our forebears fought as well as the memory of sacrifices made to achieve American independence. The mission is as important today as it was more than two hundred years ago. By contributing to annual giving, you are honoring our Revolutionary heroes and carrying forward the remembrance of our War for Independence.

  • The Society’s educational outreach programs keep the memory and ideals of our Revolutionary heroes alive by providing teachers, students, scholars, and lifelong learners with materials to explore the history and legacy of the American Revolution;
  • Our growing library comprises one of the nation’s most important collections of books and manuscripts related to the Revolutionary War available to students and professional scholars, whose publications keep the story of the American Revolution alive; and
  • The Society’s museum programs preserve some of the most important artifacts of the Revolution and present the Society’s collections and the story of our War of Independence to the public through exhibitions, lectures, and other special events.

We depend upon contributions to carry out this historic mission assigned to us by the men who won American independence. Your support will make it possible for us to carry out this work. All gifts are important. The Society welcomes contributions of any size to its Annual Giving Campaign. Donors of $50 and more are recognized in our Annual Giving Honor Roll, published each fall. Also, we will recognize annually those supporters with consecutive giving streaks of five, ten, and fifteen or more years, underscoring our appreciation of the most consistent and loyal of donors.

Other Ways to Give

In addition to unrestricted annual giving, the Society deeply appreciates other contributions. We accept gifts of marketable securities, as well as designated gifts, planned gifts, gifts-in-kind, and major gifts that support special projects or programs or that endow a long-term need. If funding a designated project or program is of interest, we would be happy to discuss the opportunities.

The Society also welcomes support from donor-advised funds, private or public foundations, and corporations (especially matching gifts). Please let us know if you have a donor-advised fund, corporate, or foundation connection.

The Society of the Cincinnati, Inc., is an IRS 501(c)(3) charity (FID #53-0205423). Our programs and endowment depend on your support. Thank you for your consideration!
